Kings Island’s Vortex: Why the Iconic Roller Coaster is Being Retired

Since 1972, families have enjoyed themselves in Mason, Ohio’s Kings Island, a well-known amusement park. The Vortex, a steel roller coaster that has been thrilling guests for more than 33 years, is one of the park’s most recognizable attractions. However, the park stated in September 2019 that Vortex would be discontinued at the conclusion of the season, leaving many fans perplexed as to why.
