Ashley Tisdale, the actress who played Sharpay, has long been the subject of fan speculation over wig use. In order to play Sharpay Evans, Ashley Tisdale did, in fact, don a wig. Tisdale acknowledged that she used a wig for the whole High School Musical series in an interview with People Magazine. She claimed that the wig was required since it was challenging to restore her blonde hair in time for filming after she had colored it dark.
Fans have also questioned whether Zac Efron lip-synced or genuinely sung in High School Musical 2 in addition to Sharpay’s hairdo. The answer is yes, Zac Efron did sing in the movie, but Drew Seeley assisted him by lending his singing voice to a few songs.
