A well-known name in the entertainment world is the Chinese actor and martial artist Jet Li. He has acted in a number of action movies, demonstrating his extraordinary agility and martial arts abilities. Who, though, taught Jet Li?

Jet Li began studying martial arts at the young age of eight. He was a student at the Beijing Amateur Sports School, which turned forth athletes of the highest caliber. He received training from the renowned trainer Wu Bin there. Former national wushu champion Wu Bin was well-known in the Chinese martial arts scene. Years of dedicated training under his direction saw Jet Li become a master of many wushu styles, including Changquan and Taijiquan.

Numerous prizes and honors were bestowed upon Jet Li for his commitment to and skill in the martial arts. He won his first national wushu title when he was just 11 years old, and by the time he was 17 years old, he had won the title five times in a row. He finally found his way to the cinema business thanks to his great wushu abilities and success, where he made his debut in the 1982 movie Shaolin Temple.

But Wu Bin was not the end of Jet Li’s martial arts journey. The traditional Chinese martial art of Baguazhang and the Japanese martial art of Aikido were two that he continued to practice and study. He also received instruction in Tai Chi from the legendary martial arts instructor Liang Shou-yu.

Regarding Chuck Norris, he had martial arts instruction from a number of well-known people, including Bruce Lee. Chuck Norris trained with Bruce Lee in the early 1960s and credits Lee with having a significant influence on his martial arts career. Norris has received instruction from well-known martial artists like Rorion Gracie and Fumio Demura.
