With more than 500,000 followers to his channel, one of the most well-known chiropractors on YouTube is Beau Hightower. He is not a physician, though. Despite having a PhD in chiropractic, he lacks the necessary credentials to practice medicine or write prescriptions.
Another well-known chiropractor on YouTube, Dr. Cracks, is renowned for his distinctive and occasionally contentious methods. He has a sizable social media following and is headquartered in New York City. But several medical professionals have also critiqued his approaches.
Despite the criticism, patients largely regard and cherish chiropractors. According to a 2019 Gallup survey, 29% of American individuals aged 18 and over had recently visited a chiropractor, making up 57% of all chiropractic patients. Insurance companies are also beginning to recognize chiropractors more, with many now include chiropractic care in their plans.
The number of black chiropractors in the United States is unknown, although it is obvious that the field needs more diversity. Social media has aided in raising public awareness of and interest in chiropractic therapy, but it has also brought some chiropractors under investigation for their practices and procedures. Despite this, patients usually respect chiropractors, and insurance companies are more accepting of their services.
