Cut the lining fabric in Step 1
The lining fabric must first be cut to the same dimensions as the exterior cloth. Make sure the pattern at the seams matches if your cloth is patterned.
Step 2: Join the Pieces of the Lining.
The lining pieces should then be stitched together along the bottom and sides, leaving a space of about 4 inches at the bottom. The bag will be turned right side out using this gap.
Step 4: Attach the Lining to the Bag
Insert the lining (wrong side out) inside the bag after turning the outer fabric right side out. Pin the top edges of the lining and outside cloth together after matching the side seams. Make sure to catch both the lining and the outer fabric as you sew around the top of the bag.
Your bag now has a lovely lining and appears to have been produced by a craftsperson. What distinguishes a handbag from a purse in this context?
